PAINT IN STUDIO FAQs

What is Mimosa and a Masterpiece Like?

Mimosa and a Masterpiece is an innovative and inspiring art class that allows you to paint while sipping on a cocktail. The class is fun waiting to happen and you will remember the experience forever. Our local artist will guide you stroke-by-stroke through the process to complete the featured painting. The class is fun and energetic with frequent breaks and lots of laughs. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!!!

Do I Need To Register In Advance?

Yes, it is highly recommended that you do because some classes fill up fast. This also guarantees that your seat is saved.

What Is The Cost?

The cost is $35 per painter. If you are attending a couples painting, you will need to register for 2 painters. Mimosas are NOT included in the price because we realize that not everyone drinks. We would not want someone to pay for a drink when they would rather have a soda. Wine and Mimosas are $5 a glass.

What Time Should I Arrive?

It is suggested that you arrive 15 minutes before the class starts. This allows you to find your seat and choose your paint colors. This also allows time to purchase a Mimosa or glass of wine in the event you need a little liquid courage. PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO FIND PARKING!! Mass Ave is very busy on the weekends.

Can I Bring My Own Alcohol?

No, BYOB is not allowed at Mimosa and a Masterpiece. We have a Wine License, so under the Indiana state law, it is illegal to bring in your own alcohol. However, you do have the option to purchase Mimosa, red and white wine. We also have soda for purchase.

What Is Included In The Price?

We provide everything you need, a 16x20 canvas, paint, brushes, easels, and an apron.

Are You Environmentally Friendly?

Yes, at Mimosa and a Masterpiece, we strive to reduce, reuse, and recycle as much as we can. We use wine glasses, champagne glasses, reusable paint palettes and muslin to protect the tables. We also use cloth napkins instead of paper towels.

How Should I Get My Painting Home?

Since we use quick drying acrylic paint, your Masterpiece will more than likely be completely dry before you leave. However, plan to travel with your painting face up.

How Many Classes/Parties Can You Have At One Time?

We have three party rooms. Room #1 can accommodate unto 24 people, room #2 can accommodate unto 16 people and room #3 can accommodate unto 10 people.

How Do You Differ From Other Paint And Sips?

  • We are NOT a franchise; we are locally owned and operated.
  • Tajuana, the owner is almost always at each class. Why? Because she loves making new friends.
  • We have very FEW rules, we love to think outside the box.
  • We have sustainable business practices.
  • We make you a custom palette with the colors you choose to create your Masterpiece.

What If I Don’t Have A DVD Player?

You will receive a link to the video via email as an alternative to the DVD that comes in your package. All that is needed to use the video link is an internet connection.

What Do I Need To Be Able To View The Class With The DVD?

A standard TV and DVD player is all that is required to view the DVD. Please make sure that the DVD is working properly before class.

What If I Need To See A Section Over?

You can rewind the DVD or streaming video. You are free to review a section as many times as you require.

What If The DVD Or Video Link Does Not Work Properly?

If you plan to use the internet link, check the link immediately upon receiving it to ensure that your connection speed works and you are able to load the video properly. If you are having trouble playing the video via DVD or video link, please call us immediately.

Do I Need Special Tables And Chairs?

No special chairs are required. However, we have found that the 6 foot or 8 foot tables work best. If you have two 8 foot tables, you are able to seat 5 painters on each side of the table. We have used both stools and folding chairs at the studio and both work well.

Should I Cover The Chairs?

We have not found it necessary to cover the chairs in the studio. However, if you have a concern, please feel free to cover them. It is better to be safe than sorry.

What If I Need The Box Sooner Than 2 Weeks?

We do offer express shipping at an additional cost if required.

What If There Is Paint Spilled On The Floor Or Clothing During The Class?

For paint on clothing: Immediately rinse the area with cold water and then apply club soda or a stain remover to treat the stain. Use fingernail or dull edge of a knife to gently scrape excess paint from the site of the stain. Launder clothing immediately following stain treatment.

For paint on non-upholstered furniture: Use surface cleaner for floor, table and counter stains. Use fingernail or dull edge of a knife to scrape excess. Wipe clean with wet paper towel.

For paint on upholstered furniture: Scrape excess paint gently with dull edge of a knife and spray with upholstery stain treatment spray or club soda. Dab with dry cloth to remove stain.

We are not responsible for any damage or painting mishaps that may happen during the class. We suggest covering areas of concern with a sheet, plastic, or tarp.

Can I Keep The Materials After The Party Is Over?

All materials are yours to keep (or give to guests as a party favor) with the exception of the DVD which we ask that you return to us in the pre-paid envelope.
